I sincerely hope that the world has not forgotten about Gargoyles, the series.
Demona was always my favorite.
To be perfectly honest with you though, I hope the world hasn't forgotten about gargoyles in general. I've always wanted to travel to Notre Dame and see the statues - the gargoyles more than anything really. I just hope that by the time I finally get to see them, that they haven't rotted away from acid rain.
Anywhore, to the point, I was inspired by the architecture of the gargoyles and the stories and legends we have made for them. Below are two, very large drawings of gargoyles that I have created. I just finished the second one earlier then evening when I returned from my boring, horrid vacation.
Gargoyle #1:
Gargoyle #2:
Which drawing do you like better #1 or #2?

I totally remember that show!!! I feel old sometimes...
Nice memories :)
Hahah that show was sweet! As far as the gargoyles go, I'm likin' number 2 the best!
I like the first gargoyle better. It just seems more like a gargoyle to me. They're both really good though.Â
Number 2 is quite a nice transition from just a stone mast on a building to possibly...a fountain?
And no, I haven't forgotten about it.
#1 is definitely the better of the two.
I like #1! :)
#1 has more detail and depth. #2 looks more stylized and stone like. So I like both for different reasons.
I like them both! What murisopsis said. Have you read 'The Gargoyle' by Andrew Davidson? Current fiction where the mail character sculpts gargoyles and other beings. (historical, religious, psychological fiction)
I LOVED Gargoyles. It was such a blast separating actual literature and history from the shroom-like story that Disney cobbled together for that show.
Jeez, YOU'RE got artistic talent too? How come everyone and their mom on xanga can draw...
I think #2's face on #1's body would be awesome.
"Gargoyles" the series was awesome! I wanted so badly to believe that could be true!
I like the first one better, but it's bc it's more 'awake', transitioning to life. The other looks still trapped in stone.
I have forgotten about that cartooon.
I like #2
Well done! #1 is more detailed and human looking- #2 is more statue looking. They're both EXCELLENT!
First I must compliment you on your talents. I personally can't draw a straight line, so I feel a bit out of my league to suggest which one is "better". They are both amazing, but if having to pick which one I responded to better, I would have to say #2.
I loved that show and use to watch it everyday before school.....#1 is closer to the "gargoyle look" while the other one looks good but if you are going for the look of more "original" gargoyle it just doesn't quite cut it for me...but they are both very nice.
I watched that show all the time!!! Both are pretty impressive but I'm gonna have to go with numero uno : )
I remember that show. Sometimes I get nostalgic for that old style of animation. Back when the first Batman animated series was also going. They weren't afraid to make them just a little bit dark.
I'd have to go for number 1.
I love gargoyles. When we redo the house, we want to have gargoyles out front. I like the second one better, but think both drawings are great!
I don't think I've ever seen that show. As for the drawings, I like both, but I like the second one more.
Loved that show!
Number two.
I love that show!!!!
i like statues
You never fail to amaze me with your art! I like them both a lot. From personal favorite, I like the first one. From an artist perspective, I like the second one better.
Damn, I remember that show...had a whole bunch of Star Trek actors doing the voices, tripped me out when I was a kid.
ryc: Well, you know, I'm busy with all these stranglings, I gotta lot on my mind...
