I hated Taylor Swift.
When I set up sound for Taylor Swift and Rascal Flatts in Knoxville, I really had no idea who Taylor was. I was walking around backstage, when a girl walked angrily by me knocking into my shoulder causing me to drop the fuse I was carrying. Without turning to apologize, she kept walking clearly upset. I picked up my fuse and turned around give this unknown girl my best Clint Eastwood stare and growl. Her pretty perfectly curled blonde hair fell up and down on her back.
"What a bitch."
Then I found out the girl who bumped me into me was Taylor Swift and I thought:
"What an even greater mega bitch."
Ever since then, I automatically grouped this "mega bitch's" music into the Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana group. I turned the station when I heard her songs on the radio. I scowled at her fans. I rolled my eyes at her cheap lyrics and stupid rap with T-Pain. I boycotted Taylor Swift.
But then Kanye West came along and made himself just a bit more infamous.
And I, along with the rest of America apparently, started to pay attention to Taylor Swift. She was in videos and interviews on MTV all of a sudden. I see her on Facebook at an event with a stupid Twilight kid Taylor Lautner. Her name was the most popular search on Yahoo. Then she was on SNL this past weekend, and I found myself laughing at her Monologue song.
I did listen to her more though after seeing her on SNL and found myself liking her song White Horse. I don't consider much of Taylor's music to be country. It is pop with a twang. I would not call myself a fan exactly, but I am interested to see what Taylor Swift, at the age of 19, will do with the rest of her career.

Zuma Halloween for Kids 09'
Last night was Zuma Halloween for Kids. I was a volunteer in it last year, and came back again this year. I am a representative for the Cotton Eyed Joe (Knoxville's #1 Dance Club).
Different companies decorate different holes of Zuma's putt putt course and then kids walk through it and get candy. It's a safe way for kids to have a good time with their parents.
The companies who decorate the best hole gets $1,500, second place gets $1,000, and third place gets $500. We came in second place this year, because quite frankly we aren't allowed to win anymore, because we've won every year for the past five years.
I wore a pirate themed outfit and two of my friends came along to help out.
You can see the Camera on the left in her outfit and me on the right in front of the Cotton Eye Joe sign.
We built a tent in the middle of the course that kids could walk through.
Brett stood inside of the tent and with the fog and the strobe light, you really could not see him at all.
Talk about freaking some people out!
Here are two little girls just after they departed for our tent.We did inflatables in front of and behind our tent.
Camera and I were a bit scared by that little boy, not going to lie.
You can also see one of our ghosts inside of the tent in this photograph. We played a lot of music and during Thriller, Camera and I would put down our buckets and perform the dance in front of the tent. A lot of the parents loved the dance, and the kids would dance while other songs played so naturally, we had to join in.
No kids dance alone!Luigi conspiring with a Pirate.
I went to a NaNoWriMo kick-off party on Thuesday night and I met a woman namd Allison. She brought her two kids to the Zuma Fun Night and actually recognized me. It made me feel good about myself since she just recently moved to Tennessee from Ohio. The humorous part:
At 2 o' clock on Friday, we had no idea what we were going to do at our station in Zuma. What was your favorite part of Halloween as a kid?

Halloween 2009
I made the below sketch this past weekend for an art studio prompt. It's nothing great (considering I finished it as quickly as possible, I had other things to do). It was supposed to follow a Halloween theme, a girl in the art studio though told me she thought of anorexia when she looked at it. What do you see?Lately though, I've been doing a lot of tile painting and book making.

I sale the ones on the left for $25 a piece as soon as I can make them.
Dinner tonight, anyone? My treat.

Not sure why this turned out so yellow in the photograph.
I made that tile for a little girl named Cooper. She's going to be a ladybug for Halloween.
What are you doing for Halloween?
I am probably just going to stay home on Halloween night and give out candy. On the 30th though, I am working at Zuma for their Halloween bash. I'm going to dress up as a pirate. I can't wait to see all the kids and get some good pictures.

I paint my jungles in the desert.
On my way back from Nashville, we stopped and hiked through Burgess Falls. It was absolutely incredible. I loved the scenery and the trail was nice and cleared. The place was absent of beer cans and broken glass. The people on the trails hiking were the nicest.
Probably my favorite picture of me from the little Burgess Falls adventure.

I hate my expression, but I just kind of like my hair in that one.

On one of the earlier lookouts.
There were small lookout points all down the trail, and the falls would steadily increase in size as you walked further down the banks.

As you walked over a small bridge, only about a foot over the water and three or four feet wide in the trail, you walked past the above the photo. It was soooo pretty.

We caught up to the family in front of us just as we were exiting and on the gravel trail back to the parking lot. The little girl on the man's shoulder was just the cutest and kept looking back at us. Such big brown, beautiful eyes!

Provence Breads & Cafe
While in Nashville, I went to this neat little French Cafe styled restaurant called Provence. We got there just before opening hours and stood with about a group of twelve strangers outside the front door. The food was incredible (can't say as much for their coffee), and I adored the atmosphere. So I thought I would share some pictures. You can click the photos to see them in a larger size.
Because I wish to appear overly conceited, I will hereby chose to put my picture first. Bwhahaha!
I'm kidding bee tee double you.
This picture just sort of inspires me in an odd way. It makes me want to write. Just sit and write.
This is my Momma. She's so cute. Her birthday is Friday. She'll be 42 years old, but hey, that's a secret, so don't tell. She might hear you and then you'll have to experience her horrific morning breath wrath.
And check out that French hottie behind of the counter. Oui, oui, monsieur, oui, oui!
Just a random mirror shot, I really wanted a photo of the two men behind me. They were absolute characters. The man in the jean outfit was this dreary creative recluse sort of fellow, and the bald man was just flamboyantly hysterical. What is your favorite local place to go eat?
